Cabinet light switches are mainly divided into three categories: mechanical switches, touch switches, and motion-sensor switches. Their operating principles differ significantly:
- Mechanical Switches: These switches use physical contacts to open and close the circuit. An internal metal plate contacts or separates when the button is pressed, directly controlling the current. Advantages include low cost (approximately 5-15 yuan per unit) and simple structure, but they are prone to wear and tear with prolonged use (lifespan approximately 50,000 cycles).
- Touch Switches: These switches utilize capacitive sensing. When a finger touches the panel, the capacitance value changes, triggering a chip (such as TTP223) to output a signal. There is no mechanical loss (lifespan exceeds 100,000 cycles), but a stable voltage (typically 5V-12V) is required.
- Motion-Sensor Switches: These switches contain infrared or microwave sensors that automatically power on when human movement is detected. Circuit Design and Key Component Analysis
All switches must be matched to the voltage (commonly 12V LED strips) and power (approximately 5-15W per strip). Taking a touch switch as an example:
- Core Circuit: Capacitive sensing module → Signal amplification circuit → Relay control module.
- Safety Design: A fuse (e.g., 250V/1A) and overvoltage protection diode (e.g., 1N4007) are required to prevent short-circuit damage.
- Energy Efficiency Optimization: Some high-end models support PWM dimming, achieving brightness levels by adjusting the duty cycle (e.g., 10%-100%).
Selection Recommendations and Troubleshooting
- Humid Environments: Prioritize IP65 waterproof sensor switches (refer to IEC 60529 standard).
- Troubleshooting: If the light does not illuminate, check the power adapter (output must match the LED strip voltage), switch wiring (whether the live and neutral wires are reversed), and whether the load is exceeded.
- Installation Notes: Inductive switches should be kept away from metal obstructions to avoid signal attenuation; mechanical switches should have sufficient space for pressing (it is recommended that the button travel be ≥2mm).
